Activity Holiday AccommodationCasa Ana is a beautiful 400-year-old village house with converted barn, goatshed and stables, south-facing terraces and walled garden. It is situated in the Alpujarras on the borders of the Sierra Nevada National Park in Andalucia, southern Spain. Once a large family home, in 2005 Anne Hunt, the new owner, carried out a major renovation to create her dream: a beautiful, elegant and peaceful mountain haven where people could relax and enjoy activities in beautiful surroundings. Click the links below to see the following information on this page: The AccommodationThe accommodation at Casa Ana is arranged around a small courtyard, and includes the Main House, the Old Goatshed, the Old Barn and the Old Stables. Throughout the property you’ll see the original chestnut beams, many old doors and 2ft thick walls of stone and rammed earth. All the floors have natural terracotta tiles, scattered with rugs. Modern comforts such as underfloor heating and new bathrooms with rain showers have been sensitively incorporated so that Casa Ana retains the look and feel of a very old and beautiful house. "The decoration and furnishing are simple but very comfortable and pleasing on the eye. And the bathrooms are excellent" Sue Ullstein, 2007 The Main House
A wide entrance hall leads to the living/dining room which is furnished with solid wooden dining furniture and easy chairs. There is a tiled serving counter between the dining area and the kitchen, with a fridge for cold drinks and shelves for coffees and teas (always provided!) and cups, saucers, plates and cutlery. There is a cosy wood burning stove with a basket of logs for extra comfort (the entire house has underfloor central heating). French doors lead to a private dining terrace with stunning mountain views, equipped with small tables and easy chairs. The architect-designed kitchen is open plan, adjoining the dining room. It is new, fully fitted and well equipped with cupboards throughout made of ash by a local craftsman; it is also fitted with a Smeg 6-burner gas hob and overhead extractor plus electric fan-assisted oven; a large Bosch fridge-freezer, Bosch dishwasher, professional style double sink, a full selection of kitchenware and plenty of tiled work surfaces, shelves and storage space. If you enjoy cooking, then you’ll love this kitchen.
